Hello, I'm

Alex Mizrahi

Full-Stack Developer

๐Ÿ“ Boston, MA

I'm a full-stack developer that loves to build new projects across a wide variety of languages and tools. I'm driven by curiosityโ€”always chasing the unfamiliar and diving headfirst into technical rabbit holes that push me to learn and grow.

About Me

I've loved computers for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I'd watch my dad navigate the arduous process of installing Minecraft mods back in the day when it was extremely complicated. I'd watch him hack away at the computer writing scripts and moving files and eventually I had an F-16 in my minecraft world. Something about that process seemed like wizardry to me and he sparked my interest in programming, which eventually led me to study computer science.

Over the years, I've built up strong skills in object-oriented programming and game design, but lately I've been drawn to what's happening closer to the hardware: low-level programming, embedded systems, operating systems, and emulation. Each project I take on teaches me something different, and that wide skill spread across the field is something I'm proud of. I'm always finding inspiration from the internet and friends on what to build next, I love jumping down development rabbit holes as those are where I learn the most and have the most fun with programming. Every time I think I've lost my love for developing, I find a new project I want to build and suddenly I'm completely swallowed.

When I'm not coding, you'll probably find me in the kitchen. My dad was a chef when he was younger, and growing up he'd have my sister and me cook alongside him. It stuck with me and cooking became my main passion outside of programming. I also love getting outside whenever I can. I spent a decade as a Boy Scout and those backpacking trips gave me a deep appreciation for skiing and hiking. Whether I'm debugging code, perfecting a recipe, or exploring a trail, I'm always chasing that feeling of figuring something out and doing it the best way I can.

Projects

You can find some my projects on my Github!

Not everything is on Github though, so look forward to a dedicated Projects page here soon.
